How long have you been in your profession?
I’ve been with Pure Ideas since 2021, but I’ve been in the profession since 2005.
What attracted you to the profession?
I obtained a position as a junior secretary and worked my way up. I initially didn’t know what IP was. It became apparent it was a profession that was very complex and required a methodical and detail-orientated personality, which appealed to me.
What are you most passionate about in your role?
I enjoy having a close working relationship with the attorney I support and I also like being able to follow a client’s application from submission to grant, having direct contact with that client and building up a relationship.
What advice would you give people looking to protect their IP?
Have a clear plan as to why you want to protect your IP. Be aware of the costs and the length of time it can take to obtain it.

What are your interests outside work?
My dog, bowling, and true crime.
